The extremes of black and white are fun to play with particularly in close up photos of abstract subjects.
I love to go to the mountains and go hiking with my camera.
Mountains are great in the spring, summer, and fall but they are even better in the winter.
Trees are everywhere but I continually find myself drawn to them. It doesn’t matter if they are full, healthy trees or old stumps.
I didn’t use to love waterfalls as I thought they always looked the same but as I work on taking more and more abstract waterfall photos I enjoy them a lot more.
Roads, fences, and trees dot the prairie landscape to give it a bit of interest. But what really makes for interesting prairie scenes is the big storm clouds.
I grew up on the prairie so I love it almost as much as the mountains. Many of the old barns and houses have been torn down but you can still find some. The more they lean the more I like them.
I have been fortunate to travel to some interesting places over the last few years. Photos in this gallery are form Newfoundland, New Zealand, Yellowstone, Florida, and Iceland.
Alberta has more than mountains and prairies. Alberta also has badlands including Dinosaur Provincial Park near Brooks, Red Rock Coulee near Medicine Hat, and Writing-On-Stone Provincial Park near Milk River.
Writing-On-Stone
It is fun to take reflection photos and see the world a little differently than normal.
I don’t often photograph animals but over the years I have taken a few animal photos that I like.
I don’t live near an ocean so I only see beaches and take ocean photos when I am travelling but I have been fortunate enough to travel to some interesting beaches in British Columbia, Florida, and Australia.
